Drum Roll Please!
Complete Me by Cate Peace is set for release from Decadent Publishing on March 21. Cate is sharing her motivation to write Clare and Ty's story.
Join me in welcoming her.
To top it off, she's giving away a 25.00 ITunes gift card, an e-book copy of Complete Me, and a cool tee-shirt. Don't forget to click the link at the bottom of the post to enter.
It all started
with a dream. Jared Padalecki with a lip ring. That’s all it took for Ty to
take root in my head.
I couldn’t get
the image out of my head, and at first it became something kind of funny. (Plus
J looks delish with a lip ring, but that is neither here nor there.) I started
looking at pictures on Google, and then I discovered that he also plays guitar.
Fast forward to a
summer festival in a small Tennessee town. One of my favorite bands, Chicago,
was playing. During one of the songs, I got an idea—how much fun would it be to
write two people who don’t want all the trappings that come along with romance?
Two people invested in their careers or invested in something that would keep them from exploring that part of life? I
got a working title—Reluctant Romantics—and the first bits and pieces of Complete Me were born.
I plotted the
entire frame of the story on the drive home. Ty pushed himself to the forefront
of my mind, practically raising his hand and jumping up and down while
screaming, “PICK ME!” One element accomplished.
Then I met Ty’s
ex-girlfriend, Jocelyn, and based her and her relationship with Ty off a
real-life situation I encountered. (I would be Claire, btw. ;) ) Cathartic?
Yes. Muchly. It was nice to write the situation into a much better resolution than what I encountered.
Claire, my
beloved unromantic romance author, is based somewhat off myself. This is the
one I lovingly call my “wish fulfilment” book. Like me, Claire started out
writing science fiction, but she found her road to publication through romance.
Honestly, I needed this book. I needed an outlet to
work through a lot of emotional fallout from above-mentioned situation. I needed a happy ending (also, Jared
Padalecki). And I definitely wasn’t disappointed with this one. I don’t think
you guys will be, either.
To celebrate Complete Me’s release, I’m giving away a
$25 iTunes gift card, a free copy of the book, and a Complete Me-inspired t-shirt! Contest stuff is below the blurb.
Here’s the blurb:
A romance author who needs to
love….
Best-selling romance author Claire Ergleston confines her passions to the pages of her books. When she receives a 1Night Stand date ‘to give her something to talk about in interviews,’ can she let herself be swept away?

A rock star who needs to let go….
The past has a chokehold on former rock star Ty Krause. Instead of killer tunes, he kills time writing passable songs for a British boy band and his nights wishing he had the balls to say goodbye. In a last ditch effort, he signs up for 1Night Stand, thinking that a night of no-strings-attached sex will help him break the leash of his past.

From the moment Claire and Ty
meet, sparks fly—but can they overcome their pasts or will their potential love
story end on a sour note?

About the author:
Catherine Peace
has been telling stories for as long as she could remember. Maybe even from the
womb; no one knows for sure. Now, she writes delightful romances with enough
spice to make Emeril happy when not masquerading as a normal person at the day
job.
