Merry Christmas! Luc is my 2 1/2 year old Coton de Tulear. He is my writing buddy and he wants to help me share my good news.

Drum Roll Please!  I received an early Christmas present. A contract from Beachwalk Press, for my contemporary romance, Love's Encore popped up in my inbox. I am so excited to share Sadie's and Vince's story. I'll give you more details as I learn them. For now, here is the unedited blurb.

Love's Encore
Contemporary romance

Love's Encore is a story about finding love amidst life's changing tides. Sadie Layne, a thirty year old cancer survivor is on a celebratory trip to LA with her best friends. She is determined to enjoy life after getting a second chance. Sadie thought she’d tucked away her regrets over her decision to give up a career in the theater to teach drama long ago. Or has she?

When she runs into Vince De Carlo, an actor she worked with in a theater group back in her hometown of Point Pleasant NJ, in the hotel lobby, she is pleasantly surprised. He transformed into one hot dude. Seeing him again disrupts her plans and reminds her of the life she reluctantly left behind. The dark-haired and muscular actor soon sparks her desires. Vince is in LA to promote a television pilot and his attraction to Sadie is stronger than ever. He never forgot her, even though a trusted friendship and a scripted kiss was all they shared.

The reunited pair give in to temptation with passion taking the lead, but reality collides with lust, and both struggle with strong doubts about their blossoming romance. Sadie dreads facing her defeat as an actress, and Vince worries how a struggling actor like himself will never be able to give the accomplished Sadie what she deserves.

Will this small town couple find a way to keep their love alive and build a future where dreams do come true? Is it better to bury the past? Or will act two lead the way to their heart’s desire?

My talented friend, Devika Fernando, has two new releases in The Fire Trilogy Series. Beautifully written, romance at it's finest. Take a peek!

Playing with Fire (FIRE Trilogy, Book 1)
Dancing with Fire (FIRE Trilogy, Book 2)
Living with Fire (FIRE Trilogy, Book 3)
The Complete FIRE Trilogy (Books 1, 2 & 3)

BLURB (the same for Books 2 & 3):

When a fire witch and an ice wizard flee to Iceland to build a new life, they never expect the one thing that could tear them apart – Kyle, adding his own magic into the mix. Felicia starts questioning everything they have. She is torn between the man who loves her but is her polar opposite, and the man who attracts her but means nothing but trouble.
As if her confusing emotions weren’t enough, Felicia finds her life turned upside down when a terrifying natural disaster threatens the end of the country and the entire world.
Will she be able to control her gift and play the part that is expected of her? Will she give in to temptation or will she save the world?

From DWF

Felicia narrowed her fire-spitting eyes at him, snorted and turned on her heel.
“I’m going. I’m done with whatever child’s play or craziness this is,” she announced, scanning the afternoon sky for her zooming dragon way up high and sending out a silent call to it.
In an instant, Kyle was by her side, his heat more intense than ever. He grabbed her arm and wouldn’t let it go when she tried to yank it away. She glowered at him, unsettled by the dangerous flash in his amber eyes and by the way her body reacted to his touch.
“You’re absolutely gorgeous when you’re all fired up…pardon the pun,” Kyle said, his gravelly voice a predatory growl. The heat from his fingers would have singed her arm right through the blouse and blazer if she hadn’t been so fuelled by her own heat and magic running rampant. Somehow, part of her anger diffused, which was strange because she wanted to be angry, she rather liked it in defense to how confused Kyle made her and how exhausted the training session had left her.
“Flattering me won’t get you anywhere,” she said drily, but her voice didn’t come out half as harshly as she wanted it.
He raised his eyebrows at her, a little of his serious and furious mask slipping away to slink off until it was needed again.
“What will get me somewhere with you?” he asked, and there was no humor in his tone although his choice of words made it sound like a joke.
“How about honesty?”

Joshua was gaping at her, his mouth opening and closing silently like a fish out of water. There was a sudden increase in icy coldness, and he froze into a statue, his face now expressionless and his eyes drawn and unfathomable as always when he was deeply distressed or too emotional for his own good.
“Can you hear yourself? You sound like some fatalistic, maniacal sect member or the leader of a dangerously foolish occult movement,” he said with that unnerving, neutral calm of his.
To cover up the disappointment and hurt and anger at his reaction, Felicia threw her head back and laughed coldly, mirthlessly. She tossed her hair over one shoulder, stood up straight and stared into his eyes.
“Thanks for the suggestion. I think I’d rather like that. An occult movement revolving around the power of fire. I’ll be the terrifying fire goddess ruling mercilessly, with everyone falling at their feet and offering me their heart on a platter. I’ll make the world burn until it puts the sun to shame. Want to stick around and watch, snowman?”
As soon as the words had left her mouth, she wanted to take them back. What had she just said? This wasn’t her, this wasn’t normal, this wasn’t right! This was her Joshua she was wounding and repelling…and yet, she would not take the words back. Didn’t she have every right to behave like this?
The choice is yours. Rise and shine. Go out and rule!
The voice inside her mind was so powerful she half thought she had spoken the words out loud.
Beside her, Kyle was cackling and clapping his hands, and her fire dragon was turning cartwheels a little ahead. There was so much heat around her, inside her. It needed out.

Almost as soon as Devika Fernando could write, she imagined stories and poems. After finishing her education in Germany and returning to her roots in Sri Lanka, she got a chance to turn her passion into her profession. Having lived in Germany and in Sri Lanka with her husband has made her experience the best (and the worst) of two totally different worlds - something that influences her writing. Her trademark is writing sweet and sensual, deeply emotional romance stories where the characters actually fall in love instead of merely falling in lust.

What she loves most about being an author is the chance to create new worlds and send her protagonists on a journey full of ups and downs that will leave them changed. She draws inspiration from everyone and everything in life. Besides being a romance novel author, Devika is a faithful servant to all the cats and dogs she has adopted. When she's not writing, she's reading or thinking about writing.

Book 1 can be read as a stand-alone (and downloaded for free from most platforms). Book 2 ends on a cliffhanger and is part of the same story as Book 3.

Former assassin Rex realizes retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be without someone to share it with. He longs for the kind of connection his friends Hunter and Casey have. Tired of meaningless hookups, Rex and his wolf are ready to find their mate. But what if his mate is the human-were bunny shifter his former boss placed in his care? Can he win the heart of this fierce and beautiful man?

Abducted and genetically altered against his will, Aaron is thrust into a world he’d thought was only make-believe. Under the protection of a Minnesota wolf pack, he struggles with his new abilities as a rabbit shifter and his growing attraction for his cocky protector. Can he trust the former assassin to keep him safe and find his brother still being held captive by the evil group responsible for changing his life forever?

Something tickled his ear, and teeth nipped the lobe. Oh, he liked it a bit rough.

“Oh yeah, baby. Bite me again. Harder.” Rex opened his eyes, finding himself on his side, face-to-face with the rabbit.

“Screw that!” He scrambled back, landing bare-assed on the floor.

Screw bunny?

His wolf’s puzzled response had him crab walking toward the door. How the hell had it gotten in bed with him? Hunter. That shithead.

Leaving the rabbit there, Rex shoved onto his feet and stormed upstairs to their room. He opened the door with so much force it slammed against the wall, causing Priss to bark at the end of the bed.

His righteous indignation diminished slightly with Hunter’s Glock trained on him. Maybe he needed to rethink how soft the former assassin had gotten. His friend lowered the gun and glared at him.

“What the hell, Hunter?” He planted his hands on his hips, more confident without a gun pointed at his face.

Casey sat up and rubbed his eyes, his reddish-blond hair standing on end. “What’s the naked, crazy man yelling about?”

Hunter covered the little wolf’s eyes. Shifters weren’t prudes, but he was one possessive dude now he had a mate. “What’s your damage? And go put some clothes on. Casey doesn’t need to see your man bits.”

“As if you didn’t know. I moved here, froze my balls off last winter, and how do you repay that friendship? By putting a rabbit on my bed. That wasn’t funny. I could have eaten him.” His stomach churned even though his wolf huffed in denial, insulted by the accusation.

No eat. Wolf like bunny.

Yeah, probably too much, you dumb wolf.
