GUEST AUTHOR CATHERINE PEACE

BLURB

Vampire Kiernan Shaw has never forgotten the night twenty years ago when he’d been forced to stand by while another vampire killed a six-year-old girl’s parents in front of her. He’s spent the better part of the last two decades watching over her, protecting her and hoping for an opportunity to make amends one day.

Ever since surviving the vampire attack that killed her parents, Moira Curran has dealt with the resulting nightmares and abandonment issues the only way she could—by throwing herself into her biochemistry career, preferring a life of a hermit in her lab to facing the reality of her lonely life.

Madame Eve brings them back together for one fateful night. An immediate bond of sizzling chemistry and respect forms, but can it heal her fears and his guilt?

I'm happy Cate was able to sneak Moira away to answer a few questions.

Moira, first things first. Can you tell the readers at home a little about yourself?

Oh, sure. I used to be a biochemist and lab hermit. Now I’m a completely badass vampire. …Hey, you smell good…

*Clears throat* Um, thank you…?

I’m kidding. You really do smell good, but Kiernan’s teaching me to control my urges.

So I’m safe.

You’re safe.

Good. So it was a difficult date for you guys at first, right?

Yeah. Considering how Kiernan and I met, I was ready to stake him or at least set him on fire with a taper candle. But he won me over.

Wine and flowers will do that.

So will brutal honesty and patience. Which I needed more. Though the rest was very sweet.

At what point did you realize you wanted to be with him?

When I realized I wasn’t scared. I can’t exactly pinpoint it—everything’s still a little bit of a blur—but I’d never had a day I felt truly safe until I met him. I believed what he said about protecting me, and I was…sold on the idea of a life with him. It’s really weird, don’t you think?

Do you believe in true love?

*Laughs* I do now. I didn’t before. There’s no rhyme or reason to it. The concept of “soul mates” and “true love” just seemed like fairy tales. With him, though, I know I’ve found my other half. I’m not going to go spouting Hallmark-isms or anything, but it’s nice.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about using Madame Eve’s service?

DO IT. No matter what you think, no matter what anyone tells you, do it. She’s amazing, and she’ll find the right person for you. Even if they don’t seem so right at the time…

Thanks, Moira, for joining me, and thanks, Kathleen, for hosting us! Don’t forget to enter the giveaway!
